49 Reports of 'No Mask Wearing on Public Transportation' Recorded in Gwangju

According to the Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency on the 6th, an incident occurred on the 23rd of last month at Songjeong Park subway station in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, where a passenger in their 60s assaulted a station staff member.
Earlier, on the 20th, a passenger in their 60s assaulted a bus driver at the Uncheon-ro city bus stop in Seo-gu.
All incidents reportedly occurred during disputes related to not wearing masks.
If a person boards without wearing a mask and is diagnosed positive, they may face a fine of up to 3 million won, as well as claims for damages including hospitalization and treatment costs, and quarantine expenses.
