Daejeon City and the Korea Land and Housing Corporation announced on the 6th that they have been selected for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's 'Industrial Complex Imagination Hub' project.
The two organizations plan to develop various industries and functions of the aging Daejeon Industrial Complex in the city center in a complex manner through the Industrial Complex Imagination Hub project, making it an innovation hub and a key axis of the second Daedeok Valley in the northeastern region.
First, the city and the Korea Land and Housing Corporation will renovate areas mixed with farmland and parking lots, attract knowledge industry centers and startup incubation centers to the complex land, and establish regional strategic industries such as wireless communication convergence and bio-functional materials. In addition, residential and cultural/convenience facilities for workers will be created on support facility land.
Regarding the Imagination Hub project site, various supports for efficient project promotion will be provided, including relaxation of floor area ratio due to land use zone changes, priority support for regeneration project infrastructure, and housing and urban fund loan support.
In particular, to improve the access issues of the Daejeon Industrial Complex, which suffers from logistics and distribution difficulties due to being surrounded by Yudeungcheon Stream and residential areas, a west-side access road (bridge) will be constructed from Pyeongsong Youth Training Center to the Daejeon Industrial Complex. This project will have a total budget of 44.6 billion KRW and aims for completion by the end of next year.
