284 Public and Private Kindergartens in Gwangju Region to Conduct Remote Classes Until the 17th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 6th that 284 public and private kindergartens in the Gwangju area will switch to remote classes until the 17th.
This measure was decided on the morning of the day through an emergency consultation with Gwangju City, quarantine experts, and the Ministry of Education to minimize the movement of young children amid the severe spread of COVID-19 local infections.
The initial measure to switch 86 kindergartens in Buk-gu to remote classes until the 12th has also been extended to the 17th.
Special, elementary, middle, and high schools (excluding 3rd-year high school students) in Buk-gu will conduct remote classes until the 12th.
In regions other than Buk-gu, about one-third of all elementary and middle school students will attend school until the 15th, and about two-thirds of all high school students will attend school. The remaining students will take remote classes.
