Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy Launches 'Smart Cooling Tips' Campaign
Summer Energy Saving Campaign from 6th to September 18th
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced that it will conduct a summer energy-saving campaign from the 6th to September 18th. It will provide guidelines for efficient cooling equipment.
The ministry is carrying out the campaign together with the Energy Saving Campaign Civic Group Council and the Korea Energy Agency. Due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the campaign will be mainly non-face-to-face.
Under the theme of 'Wise Cooling Tips,' the council and the agency will collaborate to run an online campaign with the public.
The slogan is "Safe, Save, Smart energy life, wise cooling tips within daily quarantine."
The council and the agency will produce a series of videos, card news, and webtoons related to wise cooling tips and promote them on YouTube, SNS, and other platforms.
The ministry emphasized that it newly prepared the 'Cooling Equipment Operation Management Guide' to help the public use air conditioners efficiently and will focus on promoting it during the campaign period.
It included practical information based on the air conditioner usage rules announced on May 27th by the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters as part of the 'Detailed Guidelines for Social Distancing in Daily Life.'
An official from the ministry said, "Through this, we hope it will help save energy as well as support the public in having a healthy summer."
