A Magnitude 2.3 Earthquake Occurred 22km East of Yeongwol-gun, Gangwon
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] At around 1:59 PM on the 3rd, a magnitude 2.3 earthquake occurred 22 km east of Yeongwol-gun, Gangwon Province.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the earthquake's epicenter was located at 37.18°N latitude and 128.71°E longitude. The depth of the earthquake was 6 km.
In the Gangwon region, the maximum seismic intensity was 3, while in Gyeongbuk and Chungbuk it was 2. A seismic intensity of 3 means that stationary cars shake slightly, and intensity 2 means only a few people on upper floors of buildings feel it in a quiet state.

The Korea Meteorological Administration stated, "People in areas near the earthquake epicenter may feel the tremors, so please be cautious for your safety."
