Woo Kwang-il, CEO of Geoyang Engineering, Named 'Gwangyang City 2nd Honor Society' Member
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Woo Gwang-il, CEO of Geoyang Engineering Co., Ltd., joined the ‘Gwangyang City 2nd Honor Society’ as a member on the 1st.
According to the Jeonnam Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Noh Dong-il · Jeonnam Love Fruit) on the 2nd, many Rotarians from Rotary International District 3610 and Chairman Noh Dong-il attended the Honor Society induction ceremony held at the Gwangyang Community Center.
On this day, along with the inauguration ceremony of CEO Woo Gwang-il of Geoyang Engineering Co., Ltd., the new member, the 98th Honor Member certification plaque in Jeonnam was presented, and a social contribution agreement ceremony was held.
The donation pledged by CEO Woo will be delivered as welfare project funds for the Gwangyang area.
CEO Woo said, “I decided to join the Honor Society, which I had been considering to help the underprivileged in the local community where I established my company,” and added, “I will carry out various social contribution activities with a heart of sharing, volunteering, and caring to create a Gwangyang where we live together.”
Noh Dong-il, Chairman of Jeonnam Love Fruit, said, “We thank CEO Woo Gwang-il, who has quietly practiced the path of sharing in the local community, for joining the Honor Society as the 2nd member of Gwangyang,” and added, “We are especially grateful that Rotary members participated in sharing activities together for the first time in Jeonnam.”

CEO Woo Gwang-il established Geoyang Engineering Co., Ltd., a specialized construction company in the electrical and information communication fields in Gwangyang in December 2001, and is focusing on improving POSCO’s processes and equipment efficiency with technology in various fields. In 2014, while serving as vice chairman of the Barugesalgi Movement Gwangyang City Council in Jeonnam, he received the Minister of Safety and Public Administration Award for his contribution to social service activities and helping neighbors in need at the National Members’ Convention of the Barugesalgi Movement. He has also been donating to the Jeonnam Community Chest of Korea since 2007 and joined as a Sharing Leader in January 2019.
