Gyeonggi-do Provides Up to 50 Million KRW Support for Exhibition Industry Rent and More
[Asia Economy (Uijeongbu) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province will provide support of up to 50 million KRW for rent and other expenses to revitalize the exhibition industry, which has been stagnant due to COVID-19. The support targets exhibition organizers who have completed lease contracts for exhibition halls of 2,000㎡ or more within the province this year.
The province will select 20 exhibitions to support, including 10 'new or relocated exhibitions' held for two years or less, and 10 'promising growth exhibitions' held for three years or more.
The support amount ranges from 30 million KRW to 50 million KRW depending on the scale of the exhibition. Supported items include rent, promotion costs, exhibition informatization construction costs, and installation costs.
In particular, if a COVID-19 exhibition business damage confirmation letter is submitted, 10 bonus points will be awarded during document evaluation, and the support amount will be increased by 20 million KRW, providing preferential support up to 70 million KRW.
Ryu Gwang-yeol, Director of the Provincial Economic Office, said, "The exhibition industry will play an important role in economic recovery, which has been weakened by COVID-19. We expect this exhibition support project to greatly help the stagnant exhibition industry."
The province plans to recommend that selected exhibition organizers thoroughly implement visitor and exhibition hall quarantine rules such as pre-registration of visitors, visitor checklist preparation, mask-wearing, and temperature checks to harmonize quarantine management and exhibition activities for preventing the spread of COVID-19 and creating a safe event environment.
Exhibition organizers wishing to participate in the project can submit documents such as the project plan by mail or visit to the Exhibition Team at the Gyeonggi Business & Science Accelerator (107 Gwanggyo-ro, Yeongtong-gu, Suwon-si) from the 6th to the 22nd of this month.
