Jeong Heon-yul, Mayor of Iksan, First Schedule of the Second Half of the 7th Term: 'Budget Securing'
Request for Interest and Cooperation from the Environmental Improvement Project and National Institute of Infectious Diseases
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hong Jae-hee] Jeong Heon-yul, mayor of Iksan City, visited the National Assembly as his first official schedule in the second half of the 7th term of the local government to resolve regional issues and secure budget.
On the 1st, Mayor Jeong visited the National Assembly and met with Kim Su-heung (Iksan Gap), Han Byung-do (Iksan Eul), members of the Jeollabuk-do Environment and Labor Committee, and the Health and Welfare Committee to explain the most urgent local issues such as environmental improvement projects and key projects in preparation for the post-COVID-19 era, urging active interest and cooperation.
First, Mayor Jeong requested support from the Environment and Labor Committee members to promptly complete the environmental improvement and resident support projects in Jangjeom Village, and asked for joint efforts to secure national funding for illegal waste disposal at abandoned stone mines and the acquisition project of Wanggung livestock farms.
The city is establishing and promoting a comprehensive environmental cleanup plan to solve environmental problems arising from the paradigm of industrial development, and plans to complete it as quickly as possible based on active government support.
In addition, the city is consulting with the government on creating a landfill site to resolve illegal waste and leachate from abandoned stone mines in Nangsang-myeon, a local issue.
Next, he visited members of the Health and Welfare Committee and the Budget and Accounts Committee to explain that Iksan City is the optimal location for research on new infectious diseases in preparation for the post-COVID-19 era, and urged active support for attracting the National Institute of Infectious Diseases and the National Rare Disease Medical Center.
