Helping Digital Content Expand Overseas... Online Roadshow in October
[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Jo] The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 1st that it will actively promote support for promising digital content to enter overseas markets non-face-to-face (untact) in preparation for the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic. The main points include ▲support for untact content global commercialization ▲online exhibitions and roadshows for digital content in emerging markets ▲support utilizing major overseas bases ▲opening of promotional channels (YouTube).
First, the Ministry of Science and ICT will promote the ‘Untact Content Global Commercialization Support Project’ to help promising digital content spread overseas. Untact content refers to non-face-to-face digital content services that combine new technologies such as virtual and augmented reality (VR·AR) and artificial intelligence with fields like education, healthcare, and lifestyle.
Specifically, support will be provided for ▲crowdfunding for companies seeking overseas investment ▲business consulting for commercialization including technical support, investment attraction, and corporation establishment necessary for entering local markets ▲network usage fees required for online distribution and services. Companies wishing to apply for support can do so until July 10.
Additionally, to explore export opportunities for companies facing difficulties in directly developing overseas sales channels due to consecutive cancellations of overseas exhibitions, the ‘Digital Content Emerging Market Online Exhibition and Roadshow’ will be held over two weeks in October.
The online exhibition hall will consist of VR exhibition halls for three regions: New Southern, New Northern, and the Middle East. Through regional online seminars, local market information and entry strategies will be shared, and non-face-to-face business creation opportunities will be provided through regional online consultation meetings. Fifty companies wishing to participate in the exhibition are being recruited until July 8.
Companies aiming to enter the US, Vietnam, Singapore, and India can receive continuous support for local market information, buyer and investor discovery, legal and accounting advice, and corporation establishment through five local business support bases.
Furthermore, to continuously promote excellent domestic digital content companies overseas, a new channel called ‘Korea Digital Content TV’ will be launched on YouTube, a global OTT platform, to serve as a window for global promotion and marketing of various domestic digital content based on new technologies such as VR·AR, AI, 5G, and mobile content.
