View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ga-yeon] A man in his 60s who became enraged when asked to wear his mask properly and assaulted a subway security guard has been apprehended by the police.
According to YTN on the 30th of last month, Mr. A is accused of causing a disturbance, including assaulting a security guard and verbally abusing him at Bujeon Station of the Busan Metro on the 27th of the same month, violating the Railroad Safety Act.
At the time, Mr. A was found to be wearing his mask incorrectly, such as hanging it on his chin or covering only his mouth inside the train.
When the security guard requested him to "wear the mask properly," Mr. A caused a commotion, saying, "Stop talking nonsense. You XX, seriously. You’re just a miserable XX. What do you even do? What have I done? Who do you think you are, you bastard? Who do you think you are telling me to come and go, damn it?"
Mr. A's disturbance only ended after the police arrived at the scene.
The victim explained the situation in an interview with this media outlet, saying, "When I asked for cooperation because passengers were feeling uneasy, he started cursing," and added, "When I asked why he was cursing, he told me to 'just do your security job.'"
