According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 30th, at 5 p.m. that day, the Gwangju City Health and Environment Research Institute conducted a retest on Ms. A, a woman in her 70s who tested positive for COVID-19 at a private entrusted institution, and issued a final confirmed diagnosis.
Ms. A, residing in Jungheung-dong, Buk-gu, Gwangju, was confirmed to have traveled to Jeju Island by ferry from the 22nd to the 24th. She wore a mask continuously during the trip.
After returning from Jeju Island, she showed symptoms of enteritis on the 27th and was admitted to Happy View Hospital in Buk-gu. On the 29th, a chest X-ray showed signs of pneumonia, and a COVID-19 test was conducted, resulting in a 'positive' diagnosis.
The Gwangju city government collected specimens from the medical staff who had contact with her and patients who shared the same hospital room, requested tests, and placed them under self-quarantine.
