Busan Bank obtained final approval from Chinese financial authorities for the establishment of the branch at the end of May, marking the first time a domestic regional bank has received final approval to open a second branch in China.
In particular, after obtaining preliminary approval from the Jiangsu Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission in September last year, Busan Bank swiftly completed the licensing procedures based on mutual cooperation with Nanjing city and financial authorities despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
With the establishment of the Nanjing branch in China, Busan Bank plans to build an efficient sales network by dividing China into northern and southern regions, thereby further strengthening close operations within China.
Meanwhile, in addition to the newly opened Nanjing branch, Busan Bank has overseas branches in Qingdao, China, and Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, and operates offices in Yangon, Myanmar; Mumbai, India; and Hanoi, Vietnam.
