BanDo Group Executes Organizational Restructuring on 50th Anniversary... Transition to Responsible Management System in Construction and Investment Divisions
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dong-hyun] Bando Group, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, is expanding new businesses through organizational restructuring. The group plans to strengthen its responsible management system by dividing the existing organization into construction and investment management divisions.
On the 30th, Bando Group announced that it restructured the group into two pillars: the construction division and the investment management division. Bando Construction, the core leading affiliate of the construction division, will continue to be led by CEO Park Hyun-il, while Bando General Construction will be overseen by newly appointed CEO Kim Yong-chul, who has been with Bando Construction for 20 years. The investment management division will be managed by recently recruited CEO Kim Ho-gyun.
CEO Park Hyun-il holds a doctorate in high-rise building architecture and planning and is an expert in construction management with both theoretical and practical experience. Former head of Samsung C&T’s housing business division, he oversaw projects such as the Mok-dong 'Trapalis', Banpo-dong 'Raemian Prestige', and Ichon-dong 'Raemian Chellitus'. He joined Bando Construction in 2015 and currently serves as CEO. Since his appointment, he has expanded the business scope beyond housing to include public works, civil engineering, and social overhead capital (SOC), earning recognition for strengthening the construction business’s fundamentals and competitiveness.
CEO Kim Yong-chul joined Bando Construction in 1999 after working at Samhwan Corporation. He managed the construction of the high-rise apartment ‘Bando Bora Skyview’ in Oncheon-dong, Busan, and the 'Sejong Bando Yubora' project in the Bodeum 4-ro 9 area of Sejong City. He is a construction expert with experience both domestically and internationally, including the ‘Dubai Yubora Tower’. Known as a ‘Bando man’ with over 20 years of service, he is highly respected among employees.
CEO Kim Ho-gyun of the investment management division graduated with a Master of Laws from the University of Wales and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Birmingham. After working at Hana Bank, he served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Kumho Group’s Strategic Management Headquarters. As a financial and legal expert, he has extensive experience in corporate risk management and investment operations.
Bando Group plans to expand its business areas beyond the existing housing business to include private land development, urban renewal, overseas development projects, rental housing, leisure business, and new ventures. It is expected to secure growth momentum by expanding its strong construction division and challenge new businesses through the investment management division.
Chairman Kwon Hong-sa of Bando Construction said, "We must leap forward as a global company through organizational restructuring and responsible management centered on professional managers for each business division." He added, "We will empower professional managers with responsibility and authority over their organizations to independently leverage their expertise."
