'Delivery Corruption Suspicion' POSCO Pohang Steelworks Raided ... Police's Third This Year
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] The police have launched a search and seizure operation related to corruption in subcontractor deliveries involving employees of POSCO Pohang Steelworks. This is the third such operation this year, following those in January and March.
The Gyeongbuk Provincial Police Agency's Intelligent Crime Investigation Unit sent about 10 investigators to Pohang Steelworks around 6 a.m. on the 30th to search several employees' mobile phones and computer hard drives.
The police are reported to have uncovered evidence that POSCO employees were involved during the investigation into corruption in subcontractor deliveries at Pohang Steelworks.

In connection with this, on April 18, a senior employee in his 50s working at Pohang Steelworks was found dead. It is reported that this employee had been questioned as a witness by the police regarding the subcontractor delivery corruption.
