GS25, Korea Meteorological Administration, and Others Launch 'Jinsim Happy Happy' Campaign to Support Heatwave-Vulnerable Groups
Drink 2 Bottles of Bottled Water, Donate 1 Bottle
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Convenience store GS25 is partnering with the Korea Meteorological Administration and others to run a heatwave prevention campaign donating bottled water to vulnerable groups throughout July.
GS25, operated by GS Retail, announced on the 30th that it will collaborate with the Korea Meteorological Administration, Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Nongshim, and others next month to conduct the "Jinsim Happy Happy" campaign aimed at preventing summer heatwave damage.
The campaign name Happy Happy means avoiding the sun and having a happy (joyful) summer. Since this summer is expected to be hotter than usual, the goal is to help vulnerable groups through customers' voluntary bottled water donations and to encourage ourselves to overcome the heatwave by developing a habit of drinking water.
The campaign will proceed in two ways. First, the "Happy Water Sharing" campaign allows customers to participate in the "Baeksansu" 2+1 event at GS25, store the gifted items in the GS25 app "The Pop" or "My Fridge," and voluntarily send the stored products to a designated donation representative number, which will then be delivered to vulnerable groups affected by the heatwave. In addition to the products donated by customers, the Korea Meteorological Administration, Baeksansu, and the Ministry of Health and Welfare will donate an additional 100,000 bottles of Baeksansu. The donation representative number is operated by the Korea Meteorological Administration.
The second "Happy Water Challenge" campaign is a challenge to drink water frequently to prevent heatwaves. It is conducted as a nationwide spread campaign through Instagram and Facebook, where participants post photos related to drinking water along with mandatory hashtags. The required hashtags are #HappyHappyCampaign #HappyWaterChallenge #HeatwaveWarning #KMA #GS25. Participants will be entered into a draw to win Baeksansu GS25 exclusive mobile gift certificates or specially made umbrellas by the Korea Meteorological Administration. Tagging the next participant when joining the challenge increases the chances of winning.
