KOSPI Falls Over 2%... Breaks 2100 Level Amid Foreign and Institutional Net Selling
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jihwan] The KOSPI fell by more than 2% due to selling pressure from foreigners and institutions, dropping below the 2100 mark during mid-session trading. The KOSDAQ also widened its losses during mid-session, showing a decline of over 2%.
According to the Korea Exchange on the 29th, as of 1:56 PM, the KOSPI stood at 2091.87, down 42.78 points (2.00%) from the previous trading day.
The KOSPI opened at 2104.26, down 30.39 points (-1.42%) from the previous day, initially showing a rebound in early trading before turning downward.
Currently, individual investors are showing strong buying activity in the KOSPI market, net purchasing 444.5 billion KRW to support the index. In contrast, foreigners and institutions are net selling 165 billion KRW and 289.5 billion KRW, respectively.
At the same time, the KOSDAQ is recording 734.13, down 16.45 points (2.19%) from the previous day. The index opened at 743.88, down 6.70 points (0.89%), and the decline has deepened as time passed.

In the KOSDAQ market, individual investors net purchased 233.9 billion KRW, while foreigners and institutions net sold 124.8 billion KRW and 97.4 billion KRW, respectively.
