According to the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration on the 29th, influenced by a low-pressure system developing along a stationary front located north of Shanghai, China, moving northeast-east, rain will begin from the west coast and gradually expand to all areas of Gwangju and Jeonnam from the afternoon.
This rain will continue until the afternoon of the 30th.
In particular, from late afternoon on that day, strong rain accompanied by gusts and thunder and lightning is expected mainly along the southern coast, where strong southerly winds and topographical effects combine.
The expected rainfall until the afternoon of the 30th is 50-150mm on the southern coast of Jeonnam, and 30-80mm in Gwangju and Jeonnam areas.
From the afternoon of that day, a heavy rain advisory is expected to be issued for Heuksando, Hongdo, Jindo, Sinan, Wando, Gwangyang, Yeosu, and Goheung areas.
Winds will also blow strongly.
During the rain, winds of 35-60 km/h (10-16 m/s) and maximum instantaneous gusts exceeding 70 km/h (20 m/s) are expected in coastal areas. In other areas, winds are expected to blow strongly at 30-50 km/h (9-13 m/s).
A strong wind advisory will be issued from the afternoon for Heuksando, Hongdo, Muan, Jindo, Sinan, Mokpo, Yeonggwang, Hampyeong, Wando, Haenam, and Goheung areas.
Winds of 35-60 km/h (10-16 m/s) will blow very strongly mainly in the southern West Sea offshore and southwestern South Sea offshore areas, with waves expected to rise very high at 2-5 meters.
