Gyeonggi Office of Education Supports 288 Schools with Experiential Safety Education Equipment
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education is set to support the purchase of experiential safety education equipment.
The Gyeonggi Office of Education announced on the 29th that it will provide 50 million KRW each to 288 schools in the province by the end of this month, totaling 1.44 billion KRW, for the purchase of experiential safety education equipment.
This support project is a pledge by Superintendent Lee Jae-jeong to increase the provision of safety education equipment in schools and strengthen experiential safety education to create safe and healthy schools.
Safety education equipment includes items such as CPR mannequins and training fire extinguishers that allow for hands-on experience or practice.
Since 2014, the Gyeonggi Office of Education, in collaboration with Gyeonggi Province, has implemented a project to support seven standard types of experiential safety education equipment, providing 5.4 billion KRW to 1,080 schools.

Gu Myung-seo, Director of the School Safety Planning Division at the Gyeonggi Office of Education, stated, "Substantial safety education is essential to prevent safety accidents," and promised, "The Gyeonggi Office of Education will strive to secure active budgeting in the future to enable early distribution of educational equipment to all schools in the province."
