Seoul Facilities Corporation Hosts Exhibition "Urban Landscapes, Looking Toward a Better Tomorrow"
Exhibition of Over 40 Works by Four Young Artists to Comfort Citizens Weary from COVID-19, Open to All... Featuring Seoul Landmarks Like Hangang, Seoul Tower, Myeongdong Street, and DDP in Scenic Artworks
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Amid the socially challenging times caused by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), an exhibition delivering healing through art is drawing attention.
Seoul Facilities Corporation (Chairman Jo Seong-il) will hold the exhibition "Urban Landscapes, Looking Toward a Better Tomorrow" at the Euljiro Attriae Gallery starting from the 29th.
The exhibition, running until August 14, will showcase about 40 artworks by four young artists (Seo Seon-jeong, Jeong Yeon-hee, Lim Mina, Lee Kyung-hyun).
The Euljiro Attriae Gallery is an exhibition space with a total floor area of 230㎡, created by Seoul Facilities Corporation on the underground walkway walls between Euljiro 4-ga Station and Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station on Subway Line 2.
This exhibition features works related to two sub-themes under the main theme "Urban Landscapes": "Ordinary and Special Spaces" and "People Seeking Happiness."
Notably, artist Jeong Yeon-hee focused on the concept of "City and Nature," using the Han River, Sebitseom, and DDP as subjects. The artist stated that the intention was to offer small comfort to modern city dwellers. Seo Seon-jeong addressed "Changing Neighborhood Landscapes of Seoul," featuring subjects like "Seoul Tower" and "Myeongdong."
Lim Mina concentrated on the "Organic Relationship Between City and Humans," expressing hopes for a better life through her works, while Lee Kyung-hyun depicted crowds in everyday scenes of Seoul.
Chairman Jo Seong-il said, "This exhibition was prepared to comfort the hearts of citizens exhausted by COVID-19," adding, "Seoul Facilities Corporation will continue to do its best to provide valuable public services that contribute to the happiness of Seoul citizens."

Seoul Facilities Corporation, together with Seoul City, has implemented a 50% rent reduction for 2,788 underground shopping malls for six months from February to July, following an ordinance amendment to support small business owners affected by COVID-19.
