'Incheon 20s Member Attending Seoul Hangang Car Club Meeting... Confirmed COVID-19 Positive'
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Park Hee-eun] A male member in his 20s who came into contact with confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) at a car club meeting held at the Han River in Seoul has tested positive for COVID-19.
Incheon City announced on the 28th that A (29), who lives in Bupyeong-gu, tested positive for COVID-19.
It was previously identified that A had contact with four confirmed cases, including B (34), a resident of Bupyeong-gu who tested positive for COVID-19 between the 23rd and 24th of this month, at a car club meeting held at the Han River in Seoul on the 15th.
The 10 members of the car club gathered near the parking lot of Yeouido Hangang Park in Seoul from 10:30 PM on the 15th until 2:30 AM the next day. The residences of the attendees were identified as Incheon (9 people) and Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province (1 person).
Among them, four residents of Incheon, including A, and one resident of Bucheon tested positive.
Additionally, in Bucheon, one more person who had contact with the confirmed cases from the meeting tested positive for COVID-19. Therefore, the total number of related confirmed cases was confirmed to be six, including five members.
According to the epidemiological investigation, A also attended a meeting at a restaurant with B and three other confirmed cases on the 8th.
After B and others tested positive, A initially tested negative in the first test. However, on the 26th of this month, he complained of a high fever and deterioration of taste and smell functions. The following day, he underwent an additional test at the Bupyeong-gu Public Health Center screening clinic and was confirmed positive.
According to the epidemiological investigation by the Central Disease Control Headquarters, it is estimated that B and others were already infected before the meeting at the Han River parking lot on the 15th of this month.
