Ministry of Gender Equality Ends Support Project for Justice Foundation-Operated 'Peace Our Home'
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family announced on the 26th that it will terminate the subsidy support project for 'House of Peace,' a shelter for former Japanese military comfort women located in Mapo-gu, Seoul, operated by the Justice and Memory Foundation (Jeonguiyeondae).
Jeonguiyeondae recently sent an official letter to the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family expressing their intention to end the project, and the ministry approved it.
Jeonguiyeondae must submit an operation report and a settlement report for this year's subsidy of 30 million won provided by the ministry within the next two months. Once the ministry completes the review of the reports, the House of Peace project will be officially concluded.
