Deutsche Grammophon Launches Paid Concert Service 'DG Stage'
Recital, Orchestra, and Opera... Cho Seong-jin Also Scheduled to Perform
[Asia Economy Reporter Byunghee Park] The world-renowned classical label Deutsche Grammophon (DG) will launch its online classical concert service 'DG Stage' starting on the 28th (local time).
'DG Stage' is a paid service of 'DG Premium,' a concert streaming service that DG launched last April. It is distinguished by offering the full length of performances exclusively.
'DG Stage' will begin on the 28th with a performance by pianist Alice Sara Ott and will provide recitals and orchestra concerts by world-class artists as well as operas.
On July 3rd, a performance featuring pianist V?kingur ?lafsson and Christoph Eschenbach will be released. On July 10th, audiences can enjoy a concert conducted by composer John Williams with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter.
Additionally, performances by Ludovico Einaudi and Rudolf Buchbinder, whose tours to Korea were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, are scheduled. The stage of pianist Grigory Sokolov, who is difficult to see in Korea, will also be available through DG Stage. The performance schedule of pianist Seong-Jin Cho will be announced later.
Tickets range from approximately 7,000 to 18,000 KRW depending on the scale of the performance and can be purchased through the DG Stage website. Currently, a total of 8 concert tickets are open on DG Stage. Performances can be streamed for 48 hours from the time of release.
