Kim Hak-jin Appointed as Deputy Mayor for Administration 2 of Seoul Metropolitan Government and Director of Safety General Office
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] Seoul City announced on the 26th that it will appoint Kim Hak-jin (54, photo), Director of the Safety General Office, as the Deputy Mayor of Administration 2, effective next month on the 1st.
The newly appointed Deputy Mayor Kim is a graduate of the 1st Local Civil Service Examination and was appointed to Seoul City in 1996. He has held key positions including Head of Facility Planning Division, Director of Water Circulation Safety Bureau, Director of Urban Planning Bureau, Head of Urban Infrastructure Headquarters, and Director of the Safety General Office.
He is especially recognized as a leading expert in urban planning, urban construction, and safety in Seoul City, having introduced the concept of "public contribution" to urban planning, innovated the management system for aging infrastructure, and led the construction of eco-friendly underground roads.

The Deputy Mayor of Administration 2 of Seoul City is a vice-ministerial political official appointed by the President. The appointment was made after the President's approval following Seoul City's recommendation.
