Amorepacific, Love the Earth Digital Environmental Camp
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Amorepacific announced on the 26th that it will hold the '2020 Love the Earth Digital Environmental Camp.'
Considering social distancing in daily life, this environmental camp will be conducted digitally and contactlessly, with online registration open until the 3rd of next month for elementary school students (5th and 6th graders) nationwide.
Amorepacific's environmental camp is a continuation of the 'Pacific Summer Environmental Camp' initiated in September 1993 by the Pacific Group (now Amorepacific Group) to practice environmental responsibility as part of the 'Infinite Responsibility Principle' declared at that time.
This year's Love the Earth Digital Environmental Camp is designed to help participants understand Amorepacific Group's vision for sustainable management and to nurture 'Children Eco Creators' who can respond to plastic issues with creative and flexible thinking.
Held in collaboration with the Environmental Education Center, this camp will start with an online opening ceremony and continue for about a month, considering social distancing measures.
Selected participants through an online public recruitment will engage in activities such as a plogging mission?picking up trash while jogging, an online environmental talk show with experts discussing plastic issues, a plastic-free challenge to live without plastic, and creating their own environmental campaign films. Experts in upcycling, green design, and environmental video production will provide five weeks of contactless mentoring.
Notably, this year participants will also receive online one-on-one expert mentoring to produce activity videos as content. Completed content will be showcased in an online premiere on August 22 and shared with the public via social networking services (SNS).
Camp graduates will receive certificates as the 2nd cohort of Eco Creators, with expectations for their future roles as environmental content creators.
Detailed information is available on the Amorepacific CSR website, and online registration is open until 5 p.m. on the 3rd of next month.
