Mercury Signs 13.4 Billion KRW Wi-Fi 6 Router Supply Contract with KT
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Mercury, a specialized information and communication equipment company, announced on the 26th that it has signed a supply contract for next-generation Wi-Fi 6 routers with KT.
Through this contract, Mercury will supply Wi-Fi 6 routers (802.11ax AP) worth 13.4 billion KRW. This is the first supply contract for entry-level home devices provided to domestic telecommunications companies.
Wi-Fi 6 routers have strengths such as fast transmission speeds, wide coverage expansion, efficient traffic management, and enhanced security systems. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, online education and remote work have become widespread, increasing the demand for new Wi-Fi devices.

A company official stated, "With the advent of the untact (contactless) era, user traffic is increasing, and the demand for high-performance Wi-Fi devices is also rising," adding, "As the number one Wi-Fi device company in Korea, we expect to benefit in future performance."
