Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation Supports Renovation of 120 Housing Units for Severely Disabled
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation is carrying out a housing renovation project for 120 homes of severely disabled individuals whose residential environments urgently need improvement.
The severe disability housing renovation project aims to enhance residential convenience by installing and repairing customized convenience facilities inside and outside the homes, such as safety handrails, ramps, removal of level differences, wallpaper and flooring replacement, to ensure that disabled individuals do not experience inconvenience in daily life and mobility.
The support targets are individuals with disabilities classified as grade 1, 2, or overlapping grade 3, whose household income is below 70% of the median income, excluding those receiving maintenance benefits. Eligible applicants are accepted through city or county offices at the beginning of each year and selected after qualification verification by the province.
Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation plans to complete on-site surveys of the selected households by the end of this month, begin construction next month, and finish by the end of October.
