Highly Satisfactory 'SM3 Z.E. Busan Cheongchun Dream Car' Project... Recruiting 2nd Round Participants
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Renault Samsung Motors announced on the 26th that the ‘Busan Youth Dream Car Support Project,’ which supplies the electric vehicle SM3 Z.E. in Busan, has shown very high satisfaction based on actual user surveys, contributing to reduced commuting time and transportation costs.
The ‘Busan Youth Dream Car Support Project’ is a program by Busan City that supports part of the lease fee for the electric vehicle SM3 Z.E. for two years, targeting young people newly employed at small and medium-sized enterprises in Gangseo-gu and Gijang-gun, Busan, areas with weak public transportation.
According to a performance survey conducted by the Busan Economic Promotion Agency on 199 selected participants of the ‘Busan Youth Dream Car Support Project,’ 96% responded that the Dream Car helped with their employment, and about 82% said they would recommend it to others, indicating very high satisfaction. The main reasons for satisfaction were ‘reduced commuting time’ at about 30%, followed by ‘reduced transportation costs’ at about 28%. In particular, many expressed that increased leisure time due to shorter commuting improved their quality of life.
Additionally, about 90% of the selected participants were found to still be employed, with the age group 26 to 29 accounting for about 52%, and approximately 80% of employees working in the western Busan area, where public transportation is weak. This shows that the ‘Busan Youth Dream Car Support Project’ is effectively addressing youth employment difficulties and labor shortages in small and medium-sized enterprises in the region, in line with the project’s purpose.
Busan City has increased the number of support recipients to 130 this year, completed the first round of selections earlier this year, and is currently recruiting the second round of recipients. The number of candidates for the second round is 66, and the application period is until the 3rd of next month.
