National Police Agency Pilots 'Youth Policy Advisory Group'... Reflecting Suggestions and Proposals in Policies
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] The National Police Agency announced on the 26th that it will pilot the operation of the 'Youth Policy Advisory Group' to establish policies reflecting the opinions of youth.
The advisory group will be piloted at two local police agencies, Busan and Jeonnam, among the 18 regional police agencies nationwide, and at 40 police stations across the country. After the pilot operation until November this year, the results will be analyzed at the end of the year to select a suitable model for nationwide expansion.
Youth under the age of 19 who are interested in school violence prevention activities and youth protection and support can participate as advisory group members. Once selected, members will engage in various discussions with their peers on school violence and juvenile delinquency prevention measures in their communities, expectations for police activities, and youth-related public safety policies, and based on these discussions, they can make policy-related suggestions or proposals.
The suggestions and proposals made by the youth will be thoroughly reviewed by each police station and reflected in policies. After policy implementation, all procedures including feedback will be shared to enhance the sense of achievement and participation of the youth involved.
