On the 25th, Ansan City announced that at Kindergarten A in Sangnok-gu, 8 children and 1 teacher reported symptoms suspected to be caused by norovirus, and investigations are underway on supplementary meals, specimens, and symptomatic individuals.
At Kindergarten A, since the first symptomatic case appeared on the 22nd, the number of children and teachers reporting symptoms has been steadily increasing up to the present day.
There are 167 children enrolled at the kindergarten, and 28 staff members including teachers and kitchen workers are employed there.
According to a representative from the Sangnok-gu Public Health Center, Kindergarten A is about 10 km away from Kindergarten B, where the mass food poisoning occurred, and there is no connection in terms of food supply.
Health authorities are conducting an epidemiological investigation at Kindergarten A, but no closure orders or similar decisions have been made yet.
Previously, at Kindergarten B in Sangnok-gu, where the mass food poisoning occurred, the number of children and teachers showing symptoms of food poisoning has increased to around 100 as of today since the 16th.
