Iksan City Establishes Cooperative System for Regional Development with Local Political Circles
Held Policy Meeting with Provincial Assembly Members to Share Current Projects and Policy Directions

View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hong Jaehee] Iksan City, Jeonbuk, has begun establishing a cooperative system for regional development, including requesting support from local political circles to attract the National Institute of Infectious Diseases.
On the 25th, according to the city, a policy meeting was held attended by Mayor Jeong Heon-yul, Vice Mayor Yoo Hee-sook, and provincial assembly members Kim Dae-oh, Kim Jeong-su, Kim Ki-young, and Choi Young-gyu, where they exchanged broad opinions on major pending projects and directions for city administration development.
This meeting was organized to discuss the necessity and future direction of projects that the city is focusing on and to strengthen the organic cooperation system between the provincial assembly members and the executive branch.
First, regarding projects requiring support from Jeonbuk Province, after the project explanation and cooperation requests by the head of the local office, participants focused on proposing projects that need to be reflected in next year's Jeonbuk Province main budget through discussion, and discussed strategies and directions for securing project funds.
Major projects discussed included attracting the National Institute of Infectious Diseases, the construction of the National Food Cluster industrial railway, and efforts to ensure that the Geumma Ancient Road area urban regeneration New Deal project is selected in the Jeollabuk-do public contest.
Subsequently, they shared future directions on attracting the National Rare Disease Medical Center, upgrading the Chunpal Line to a local road, establishing infrastructure for aging agricultural and industrial complexes, the Baekje Royal Palace Mireuksaji World Heritage Road local road (Route 722), the Jeonbuk Design Center and undergrounding project of the Jewelry Village, comprehensive measures for environmental pollution accidents in Jangjeom Village, and the Eurasia Railway hub station project.
Iksan City and the provincial assembly members plan to hold policy meetings quarterly starting this year, gathering opinions and wisdom on major city administration issues to jointly solve pressing tasks.
