Wavve Collaborates with Microsoft on Technology for Overseas Expansion
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Online video service (OTT) Wave announced on the 25th that it has migrated the entire company's IT environment to the Microsoft Azure cloud platform to expand its overseas service and regions.
Wave added, "Through technological cooperation with Microsoft Azure, which has global competitiveness and a high level of security, we plan to expand full-scale overseas services including Southeast Asia." Currently, all processes such as streaming service transmission, management, and data analysis are operated on the Azure cloud. Through collaboration with the Microsoft headquarters engineering team, it is expected that services necessary for Wave can be developed immediately and provided directly to the field.
Wave operates 'Wavego,' which enables mobile streaming in seven Southeast Asian countries including Singapore and Indonesia, to support overseas use by domestic paid users. Through the Azure migration, Wave also plans to provide various contents in seven individual languages. Additionally, it plans to expand services for overseas Korean residents starting from Southeast Asian countries and to conduct overseas market research and establish partner cooperation systems. Technological cooperation with Microsoft is also planned for overseas expansion.
Cho Hwi-yeol, CTO of Content Wave Platform Technology Headquarters, said, "Through Microsoft Azure, which is rapidly growing in the global cloud service sector, we expect to secure service stability and scalability for Wave even when expanding overseas in the future."
