[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun announced that on the 25th at 4 PM, the 9th Thursday Dialogue will be held at Samcheongdang, the Seoul official residence, with the 4050 generation, the driving force leading the Republic of Korea.
This Thursday Dialogue, under the theme "The Present and Future of the Republic of Korea, Listening to the 4050 Generation," invites the 4050 generation around us, including office workers, self-employed individuals, and housewives, to hear their stories about career concerns such as unemployment and reemployment, and the dual burden of child education and parental support, making them the so-called "sandwiched generation."
At the dialogue, Seokyung Ran, Deputy Director of the IBK Economic Research Institute, will first present on the topic "The Rechallenge of the 4050 Generation Smart Seniors," discussing the significance and importance of the 4050 generation in the labor market, who constitute the majority in population proportion and have experienced both the worst recession and the best boom simultaneously, along with high education levels and globalization.
Following this, Kim I-jun, a career mentoring expert and professor at the College of Humanities and Natural Sciences at Korea Aerospace University, will introduce the concerns of the 4050 generation regarding work and family through vivid case studies.
