Gyeongnam Province Conducts Specialized Training at Smart Farm Youth Startup Incubation Center
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] Gyeongnam Province announced on the 24th that the ‘Smart Farm Youth Startup Incubation Center’ training program, scheduled to be implemented from September, is attracting significant interest not only from youth within the province but also from young people in other regions.
The Youth Startup Incubation Center provides education on crop cultivation techniques, smart device operation, greenhouse management, and business and marketing to help young people without farming knowledge or background secure employment or start businesses in smart farming.
The program will be conducted through practical training and field education covering overall smart farming and facility horticulture, and will systematically foster young farmers through business practice courses operating smart farms as a profession.
To operate the Youth Startup Incubation Center, the province is establishing an educational practice farm, rental-type smart farms, a demonstration complex for HW/SW technology standardization related to smart farm companies, and a Smart Farm Innovation Valley Support Center. Currently, the project is in the detailed design phase for infrastructure and greenhouse buildings.
Applicants for the Smart Farm Youth Startup Incubation course must be youth aged between 18 and under 40 years old. Applications can be submitted online through SmartFarm Korea until July 3rd.

Jung Jae-min, Director of the Agricultural Policy Bureau of Gyeongnam Province, stated, “The Youth Startup Incubation course will be offered free of charge, and dormitory facilities and practice greenhouses will be provided for the convenience of trainees. Youth settling in the province will be granted eligibility to apply for the ‘Youth Farmer Smart Farm Comprehensive Fund.’”
