Jeonbuk health authorities announced on the 24th that Mr. Go (male, in his 40s), residing in Jeongeup, tested positive for COVID-19 at 7 PM on the 23rd.
However, Mr. Go was confirmed not to be related to the recent confirmed case from the Daejeon door-to-door sales cluster, providing relief to the provincial health authorities.
Mr. Go had been dispatched to Nigeria for work and developed gallstones there, returning to Korea through Incheon International Airport on the 10th for treatment.
At the time of entry, Mr. Go tested negative for COVID-19 and has been under self-quarantine since then.
However, on the 23rd, during a COVID-19 test requested for ending self-quarantine, he tested positive and is currently hospitalized and receiving treatment at Jeonbuk National University Hospital.
Mr. Go was asymptomatic until the positive diagnosis, and his family consists of three members: grandparents and parents.
