Ministry of Education Finalizes Selection of 297 Researchers for Humanities and Social Sciences Academic Support Projects
Research to Begin from the 1st of Next Month
Must Submit a Total of 5 Research Reports Over a Maximum of 5 Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] The Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea have finalized and announced the recipients of this year's Humanities and Social Sciences Research Professor Support Project on the 23rd.
Among the academic support projects in the humanities and social sciences, the Humanities and Social Sciences Research Professor Support Project (Type A) is a newly established academic support project selected for the first time this year. It was newly created by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and ICT, and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a measure to revitalize the humanities and social sciences academic ecosystem. Another academic support project in the humanities and social sciences (Type B), targeting approximately 3,000 recipients, will have its results announced in August.
This support project, which has selected 297 final researchers, will commence research activities starting from the 1st of next month. Researchers are required to conduct research activities either at university-affiliated research institutes or individually for up to five years and submit a total of five research achievements. Additionally, activities to disseminate research outcomes, such as lectures and presentations at academic conferences related to the research topics, will also be conducted.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Education announced the selection results for mid-career researchers, general joint research, domestic postdoctoral training, classic book translation, and humanities city projects, which are humanities academic support and promotion tasks starting next month.
