Gyeongbuk Youth Development Foundation Receives Prime Minister's Commendation for 'Resolving Smartphone Overdependence'
Ministry of Science and ICT-Sponsored Smartphone Healing Activity Evaluation 'Nationwide Best'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Gyeongsangbuk-do announced that the Youth Development Foundation was selected as the best institution nationwide in the Internet and Smartphone Healing Activity Evaluation hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT in 2020 to commemorate 'Information Culture Month.'
In this regard, the Gyeongbuk Youth Development Foundation had the honor of receiving the Prime Minister's Commendation on the 22nd at the government Seoul office, the only one among the 17 cities and provinces.
Gyeongsangbuk-do has focused its provincial administration on related fields by conducting education and counseling activities on proper smartphone usage for youth every year, along with a summer healing camp (11 nights and 12 days). Through the Youth Development Foundation, various support activities such as youth policy analysis and evaluation, Eoulmadang, and club support are being carried out.
Seo Won, CEO of the Gyeongbuk Youth Development Foundation, pledged, "We will not be satisfied with this award and will strengthen communication with organization members to become a reliable partner for youth and increase their satisfaction."
Lee Won-kyung, Director of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Office's Child and Women’s Happiness Bureau, welcomed the award, saying, "The reason Gyeongsangbuk-do was able to achieve the best results among the 17 cities and provinces nationwide is the result of uniting the efforts and capabilities of each individual. We expect the newly launched Gyeongbuk Youth Development Foundation, established through organizational restructuring, to become a focal point for improving the status and welfare of local youth."

Meanwhile, on the 4th, Gyeongsangbuk-do carried out an organizational restructuring of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Youth Development Foundation, to which the Youth Promotion Agency belongs, through the revision of the 'Gyeongsangbuk-do Youth Facility Installation and Operation Ordinance.' The main point was to unify the previously bifurcated foundation, consisting of the Youth Promotion Agency and the Youth Training Center, into a single office-centered organization by introducing a full-time CEO position.
