Damyang-gun Selects 5 Locations Including Myeongjiwon in the '1st Pretty Garden Contest'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Choi Hyung-sik) announced on the 22nd that five final sites were selected as a result of the '1st Pretty Garden Contest' held to discover hidden local resources and spread garden culture in daily life.
The submitted gardens went through the first document screening and the second on-site evaluation, resulting in a total of five sites selected: one grand prize, one excellence prize, and three encouragement prizes.
The selected gardens will receive certificates and plaques certifying them as pretty gardens as awards.
The judging committee evaluated that many gardens had excellent aesthetic value, design, and maintenance.
The selected gardens are expected to promote Damyang as an ecological garden city and become tourist attractions that enhance the dignity of the region.
The awarded excellent gardens are: Grand Prize - Myeongjiwon in Goseo-myeon; Excellence Prize - Dalbit Yeohaeng in Daedeok-myeon; Encouragement Prizes - Hanokeseo in Changpyeong-myeon, Jeongwoni Yeppeunjip in Changpyeong-myeon, and Yeogie Mo-in Uri Jeongwon in Wolsan-myeon.
