The ‘Multicultural Family Reading Mentoring’ program, running from July to November, pairs multicultural families and Korean families with children aged 5 to 7 in a one-on-one format. Under the guidance of professional instructors, participants read storybooks together and engage in post-reading activities to help foster mutual cultural understanding.
To prevent COVID-19 infection, the number of participants per session has been reduced to 50%, but to provide opportunities to more people, sessions are divided monthly and recruited separately.
The program runs for a total of four months from July to November, excluding September, and is divided into four monthly sessions for recruitment and operation.
The application period for sessions 1 and 2 is from June 23 to June 30, and for sessions 3 and 4, from September 22 to September 29. Eligible applicants are multicultural and Korean families with children aged 5 to 7, with four multicultural families and four Korean families able to participate per session.
Applications can be made by calling Ulju Seonbawi Library or through the online course registration on the Ulju Integrated Library website.
