Average Daily COVID-19 Cases in Seoul: 5.2 in April, 7.4 in May, 17.9 in June
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] As of 10 a.m. on the 20th, the number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) occurring in Seoul, as disclosed by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and autonomous districts, has exceeded 1,200.
As of midnight on the 20th, the cumulative number of COVID-19 confirmed cases identified by the Seoul Metropolitan Government is 1,202, an increase of 14 from the previous announcement.
From the beginning of this month until the 19th, an average of 17.9 confirmed cases per day occurred in Seoul. This is a significant increase compared to April (5.2 cases) and May (7.4 cases).
The sharp rise in the daily average number of confirmed cases appears to be due to confirmed cases related to the Richway door-to-door sales company in Gwanak-gu and sports facilities in Yangcheon-gu.

According to the Seoul Metropolitan Government's announcement, among the 1,202 cumulative cases occurring in Seoul, 730 patients have been declared recovered and discharged. Six have died, and 466 are receiving inpatient treatment.
