[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] A 6th-grade student at Oksu Elementary School has tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
According to Seongdong-gu, Seoul, on the 20th, a 6th-grade student at Oksu Elementary School and her maternal grandmother, a woman in her 60s, were confirmed positive after being tested the previous afternoon. The child's mother was also tested but received a negative result.
The elementary school student reportedly attended school around 8 a.m. on the 17th and took graduation photos. She did not attend school on the 18th due to self-quarantine and was tested on the 19th.
Health authorities suspect that the maternal grandmother was infected on the afternoon of the 14th while dining with four people in Gwanak-gu.
