Uniqlo Mask Sells Out on First Day... Contrasting with 'Abe Mask'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] Japanese clothing company Uniqlo's 'AIRism Mask,' made from breathable material and released in Japan, received a warm response and sold out on its first day, Kyodo News reported on the 19th.
In front of Uniqlo stores across Japan, including Tokyo, crowds formed even before the doors opened, and the online site experienced access disruptions due to a large number of simultaneous users.
Uniqlo masks, sold in packs of three for 990 yen (about 11,200 won), are made from the same material as the functional underwear 'AIRism.' They can be washed and reused up to 20 times and are promoted for their quick-drying properties.
The AIRism masks are available for purchase only within Japan. Uniqlo stated that it plans to continue increasing production of AIRism masks and is considering selling them in overseas stores as well.
