The Makgeolli Globalization Research Institute at Silla University is offering a government-funded training course to nurture 'Our Alcohol Experts.'
The institute was recently selected as a recipient of educational funding in the '2020 Our Alcohol (Traditional Liquor) Professional Workforce Training Government Support Project,' hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and organized by the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service.
With this project selection, Silla University will operate a total of 154 hours of the 'Our Alcohol Expert Training Course' every Friday from the 26th of this month to November 20th at the Biomedical Life Sciences Building on campus.
The training aims to cultivate experts who will contribute to the development of the traditional liquor industry. Through this program, the Makgeolli Globalization Research Institute at Silla University plans to enhance the capabilities of personnel in the traditional liquor field and improve quality control standards to support professional and efficient quality maintenance and hygiene safety management.
This year marks the 8th time Silla University operates the government-funded training project for professional workforce development in Our Alcohol (traditional liquor). Experts in the alcoholic beverage industry, including Professor Lee Yong-soo of the Department of Food Engineering, Bioindustry Division at Silla University, will participate to impart traditional liquor manufacturing and management techniques.
The curriculum covers the characteristics of traditional liquor raw materials and fermenting agents, quality control indicator analysis techniques, practical training in traditional liquors (Takju, Yakju, Cheongju) and nuruk production, field visits to major companies, regulations related to alcohol manufacturing (Food Sanitation Act, Liquor Tax Act, Liquor Quality Certification System, etc.), distribution marketing, and product development practice.
Employees of liquor manufacturing companies in the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam regions, workers in liquor distribution, small-scale liquor manufacturers, prospective entrepreneurs, job seekers preparing for new product development and quality control roles in the liquor industry, as well as those interested in distribution and marketing planning roles and citizens interested in the liquor-related industry, are encouraged to consider this training course.
