Trump Angry at Bolton's 'Memoir Revelations'... "Only Said Good Things Before Getting Fired"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] U.S. President Donald Trump strongly criticized former White House National Security Council (NSC) advisor John Bolton, who plans to publish a memoir revealing the inner workings of the White House, saying, "He always said good things until he was fired," and calling Bolton "incompetent."
On the 17th (local time), President Trump quoted a review from The New York Times (NYT) on his Twitter, writing, "The eccentric Bolton's 'extremely boring' book is made up of lies and fake stories." He referred to former advisor Bolton as an "unpleasant and boring fool," adding, "He always wanted to go to war."
He continued, "He was rejected without finding any clue to solving problems and was happily discarded. How foolish!" he mocked. He also retweeted a tweet by Indian-American filmmaker Dinesh D'Souza, who mentioned Trump's statement that if Bolton's advice had been followed, World War VI would have occurred, adding, "Former President George Bush also fired him. Bolton is incompetent."
On the same day, in an interview with Fox News, President Trump emphasized that Bolton "broke the law" during the memoir writing process and that the content of the memoir was classified as top secret and did not receive approval. He also said that when he appointed Bolton, he did not receive Senate confirmation, so he gave him a "position that did not require confirmation," but "did not like him much," and described him as a "hopeless person."

Former advisor Bolton has announced that he will publish the memoir on the 23rd. The U.S. government requested an emergency order from the court to stop the publication, claiming that the memoir contained state secrets and was released before the government-level review was completed. The White House also filed a civil lawsuit the day before, requesting a delay in the memoir's publication in the name of the Department of Justice and the Attorney General.
