Hankom Robotics Partners with Yoonsunsaeng to Promote AI English Education Business
AI Home Service Robot 'Toki' Equipped with English Education Content
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] Hancom Robotics, a subsidiary of Hancom Group, announced on the 17th that it will promote an English education business using AI-based home robots in collaboration with the English education brand Yoon’s English.
Hancom Robotics signed a business agreement at Yoon’s English building in Gangdong-gu, Seoul, with key figures including Woo Jun-seok, CEO of Hancom Robotics, and Yoon Sung, Executive Director of Yoon’s English, in attendance.
Through this agreement, the two companies will develop English education services utilizing home robots to pioneer the AI learning market. Hancom Robotics plans to expand its business area to the educational robot market by installing Yoon’s English education content on its AI home service robot, 'Toki.'
Toki can engage in natural conversations in both Korean and English and provides English grammar and pronunciation correction. It is equipped with AI-based interactive functions, such as facial recognition to distinguish family members.

Woo Jun-seok, CEO of Hancom Robotics, said, "The activation of non-face-to-face education will be a trigger for robots to grow into educational content platforms," adding, "As online education spreads due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), we will work closely with Yoon’s English to revitalize the educational robot market."
