The 'Star Company Hero Training Project' is a part of the regional star company development project, launched in 2015 to inject new vitality into the local job market, and has received positive responses from both companies and job seekers.
For young people struggling in the era of youth employment cliff, it provides opportunities to realize their dreams at excellent local small and medium-sized enterprises such as Daegu star companies, and serves as a "rain in a drought" by strengthening corporate competitiveness through outstanding talent for companies.
A total of 33 companies are participating in this 8th term. These include 23 Daegu city-selected star companies, 2 global small giants, 1 World Class 300 company, and 7 employment-friendly representative companies. The total number of recruits for this project is 100, making it the second-largest hiring scale among the 1st to 8th terms. The fields to be hired cover all corporate job areas such as business planning, marketing, and technology development. The average annual salary is about 26.6 million KRW.
Eligibility requirements allow 4th-year students from 10 universities in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk area, including Kyungpook National University, Yeungnam University, and Keimyung University, to apply. Those who pass the document screening and interview will work as interns for a total of six months from August to January next year. They will receive a work-study scholarship benefit of 11,150 KRW per hour. After the internship, regular employment opportunities will be provided at the matched companies.
Seong Im-taek, Daegu City Economic Policy Officer, stated, "We will revitalize the Daegu economy by strengthening the competitiveness of local companies by supplying excellent young talent to companies weakened by COVID-19 and providing local youth with opportunities to find employment at promising local companies."
