Cheongam University Achieves Award at National Junior College Students' Learning Method Competition
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Cheongam University (President Seo Hyung-won) achieved the great success of winning the Excellence Award and Encouragement Award at the “2020 National Junior College Student Learning Method Competition (Contest Theme: Self-Directed Learning Essay, UCC Create),” hosted by the Junior College Innovation Support Project Development Council in May.
This competition was held to support the passion and efforts of students striving for academic achievement and self-development at home due to the spread of COVID-19, and to discover and share excellent cases of remote learning methods.
In the self-directed learning essay category, Kim So-won from the Department of Nursing won the Excellence Award for effective learning activities through remote classes and her unique study methods, while Seo Hee-yeon and Lee Ji-won from the Department of Nursing won the Encouragement Award in the UCC Create category.
Kim So-won, who won the Excellence Award, expressed her feelings, saying, “I am really happy to have learned self-directed learning methods through our university’s learning planner program and to have participated in the competition and received an award.”

Meanwhile, the Cheongam University Teaching and Learning Support Center (Director Yoon Oh-sun) plans to continue research and support on ‘online teaching and learning methods development’ due to post-COVID-19 and ‘metacognitive learning methods’ for students to learn independently.
