The scholarship was primarily awarded to students facing financial difficulties due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic. Students who submitted supporting documents such as proof of their parents’ unemployment or business closure, totaling 54 students, and those recommended by department heads were given priority. Each of these students received 400,000 KRW.
The university plans to continue increasing the number of scholarship recipients with donations collected from professors and staff on campus after this date. Previously, the university had already provided 400,000 KRW scholarships funded by faculty and staff donations to 49 students experiencing financial hardship due to the COVID-19 situation.
The fundraising began mainly among faculty members, and the university explained that voluntary donation drives continue among professors and staff as a result.
