[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] On the 16th, the Daegu area continued its stable trend for the second consecutive day as no new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) were reported.
According to Daegu City on the 16th, as of midnight, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases remained the same as the previous day at 6,894. The number of recovered patients increased by 4 from the previous day, totaling 6,756 (97.99%). The death toll stands at 185. Currently, 35 confirmed patients are receiving treatment in hospitals (34) and living treatment centers (1).
In Daegu, there were no new confirmed COVID-19 cases for three consecutive days starting from the 9th, but on the 12th, middle school students in Buk-gu and Dalseo-gu tested positive, followed by a family of three returning from France confirmed on the 13th. Additionally, on the 14th, a woman in her 20s living in Dalseo-gu and a man in his 40s returning from Mexico were confirmed positive.
Meanwhile, in the Gyeongbuk region, no new confirmed COVID-19 cases have been reported for 10 consecutive days as of midnight on the 16th. This 10-day streak without new cases is the longest record since the first confirmed case in Gyeongbuk on February 19.
