View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] Hyundai Motor Company announced on the 16th that it will conduct the eco-friendly social contribution campaign '2020 Longest Run.'
Started in 2016 and now in its 5th year, the Longest Run is a program where participants download a dedicated application and contribute to a forest creation project by running, cycling, and other activities. Considering social distancing due to COVID-19, this year's campaign will begin with an 'Untact Race' (contactless running) event and continue until the end of the year.
The Untact Race will be held for ten days starting from the 3rd of next month, allowing participants to freely run their preferred course at any time, completing a total distance of 10 km in one continuous run. Upon success, a mobile completion certificate will be issued.
Those wishing to participate can apply using the Longest Run dedicated app from today until the 29th, choosing between paid participation (limited to the first 3,000 applicants, donation of 10,000 KRW) or free participation. Paid participants who pay the 10,000 KRW fee will receive a commemorative 'Eco-friendly Race Package' consisting of a Kolon Sports T-shirt made from recycled plastic fibers, a wooden medal, and an eco-friendly race number tag.
All participation fees from paid participants will be donated to the production of children's running tracks in public facilities in Seoul, made by recycling automotive seat waste materials provided by Hyundai Transys. Wallets, key holders, and other items made from upcycled leather scraps for development will be used as participant prizes. Additionally, eco mileage can be used to enter eco-friendly products in the 'Eco Mileage Shop.' Furthermore, customer participation will be actively encouraged through support for small groups such as running crews and eco-friendly movement challenges.
A Hyundai Motor Company official said, "We hope this healthy movement that considers the environment will provide a small motivation to the public who have been shrinking due to COVID-19," adding, "We will continue to introduce various eco-friendly social contribution programs together with our customers to create a sky without fine dust and a clean world."

Meanwhile, Hyundai Motor has been promoting the 'Ioniq Forest' project through the Longest Run campaign since 2016. Currently, about 20,000 trees have been planted in the Incheon Cheongna district at the Seoul Metropolitan Area's second landfill site to create an eco-friendly forest. This year, the forest will be completed with saplings donated according to the cumulative distance run by participants, concluding the five-year forest creation project 'Ioniq Forest.'
