[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] The Democratic Party of Korea on the 15th nominated candidates for six standing committee chairpersons, including the Chairperson of the Legislation and Judiciary Committee for the first half of the 21st National Assembly.
Yoon Ho-jung was nominated as Chairperson of the Legislation and Judiciary Committee, Yoon Hu-deok for the Planning and Finance Committee, and Song Young-gil for the Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee. Additionally, Min Hong-chul, a three-term lawmaker, was nominated for the National Defense Committee, Lee Hak-young for the Industry, Trade, Small and Medium Enterprises and Startups Committee, and Han Jeong-ae for the Health and Welfare Committee.

The Democratic Party announced the list of these six standing committee chairperson candidates through a party caucus held that afternoon. The candidates will be elected as standing committee chairpersons through a plenary session vote at 6 p.m. the same day.
